You know this is the one you've been waiting for.

Tim Schaefer's Double Fine productions will be developing Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster exclusively for the Xbox 360 Kinect. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the same Tim Schaefer responsible for brilliant classics and criminally overlooked gems like Grim Fandango, Psychonauts, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, and the early Monkey Island titles. The guy also made Brutal Legend, but we wont hold that against him. Recently, the studio has found critical success with downloadable adventure titles like Costume Quest and Stacking.

Players will have the chance to navigate an "interactive storybook" with their pals Ernie, Bert, Elmo, and of course, the count. Anyone else from the Nintendo era think they were born too damn early all of a sudden?

The game promises play styles that include flying, dancing, jumping, and more, setting it obviously apart from the rest of the Kinect library so far. So, hardcore gamers rejoice! Your Kinect purchase will not have been in vain once you finally get to count with a digital... erm... Count.

In all seriousness, I can't imagine any kid under the age of 8 who wouldn't jump at the bit for a game like this. Warner Bros. interactive has announced that the game will be out for Fall 2011.
