According to Everything HQ, Sony is expected to slash the prices of their main console sometime in the near future. Along with this price cut, it is expected that Sony will be introducing a new model of their PS3 Slim that will features anti-hacking measures and a 300 GB harddrive.

The PS3 until recently had been deemed unhackable and has avoided for the majority of its lifespan the piracy seen on rival consoles such as Microsoft's 360 and Nintendo's Wii. With the realisation that hackers are now able to pirate games on the PS3 (most notably leaked copies of Guerilla's Killzone 3), Sony appears to be taking an agressive stance to avoid any future piracy.

The new model is rumoured to retailed at $300 with cuts on existing models to come in the near future.
