Warner Brothers Interactive has recently announced that the upcoming Mortal Kombat, a reboot of the classic franchise, has been refused classification by the Australian Classification Board. This basically means that the game cannot be legally sold by stores, clearly quite a problem for those gamers down under hoping to get their hands on the upcoming NetherRealm Studios release.

While some game developers have worked on edited versions of titles for release in Australia WBIE stated that the game will not release in Australia although this could theoretically change in the future. It's sad to say that this is yet another title that those Australian gamers who are old enough to buy will have to either import or simply do without.

Mortal Kombat will fatality its way onto konsoles this koming April 19th in North America while European gamers will have to wait until the 21st.
