Markus Persson, commonly known as Notch, has revealed some of the details of his upcoming title.

The project, called 0x10c, will take place in a parallel universe where the space race never ended.  Players will take control of a ship and will be responsible for maintaining the ships power generator.

"Each ship has a generator capable of producing a fixed wattage, and everything you connect to it drains wattage." says Notch on the game's website. "A cloaking field, for example, might require almost all the power from the generator, forcing you to turn off all computers and dim all lights in order to successfully cloak."

Notch also explains that the game will include hard science fiction, a lot of engineering, plenty of space battles with AI and other human players and of course, mining, trading and looting.

The game right now is in the early stages of development, but Notch did say that he plans to release it the same way he did with Minecraft and have players play it before it ever gets an official release.  He also exclaims that the game will perhaps come with a monthly fee for players to join the "Multiverse".
