It looks like director Takashi Miike, maker of several movies including Audition and Death of a Samurai, will be directing a movie based on Ace Attorney. The Huffington Post quotes him as saying, "It is a very light comedy that I am filming now, a court drama, based on a video game, the Nintendo game DS."

Just to forewarn you, the linked Huffington Post interview is mostly about ritual suicide save for the pulled quote.

Assuming it is Ace Attorney he's talking about, having a high-profile, acclaimed film director taking the reigns to make the series into the big screen could be huge.  There's definitely no "OBJECTION!" from this journalist.
