26 seasons, over 700 episodes, 11 doctors and finally a MMO. 

BBC Worldwide announced yesterday that the long-running British sci-fi TV series will be getting  a massive multiplayer online game.  The game will be developed by Three Rings and will be free-to-play.

Titled Doctor Who: Worlds in Time, BBC Worldwide said the game: "allows players to enter the TARDIS and be set a challenge by the mysterious Time Lord to help him defend civilized culture against infamous Doctor Who enemies."  The game will have players solving time-bending puzzles as well as other challenges.

"Our goal with 'Worlds of Time' is to capture the imaginative spirit and depth of the series," said Daniel James, CEO of Three Rings. "whilst being fun and easy to play for all ages."

No word yet on a release date.
