More music video gaming! Question is... guitar hero or rock band? I've tried both and i'm indifferent, probably because I havent gotten into any of these types of games yet. What's everyone's preference?

If I had to choose, Guitar Hero would be my pick. Drums are beyond me and I'm not going anywhere close to a microphone. Rock Band is fun only if you have friends that can play those parts. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the genre. Going from playing real guitar where the notes follow a certain progression, to these 5-button arcade things where there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of sense behind which buttons go with which sound, it just messes with my head.

/my excuse for sucking at guitar hero

I hear Guitar Hero World Tour is coming out this fall and it'll have drums and everything. Rock Band Wii has no downloadable content.

The drums will cymbals too!
I have a couple of friends that said that they would rather hold out until World Tour comes out instead of getting Rock Band.I assume the Rock Band and GH instruments wont be compatible with each other?

I'm not really interested in Guitar Hero or Rock Band. They are both overhyped.

I'd personally pick Guitar hero, as it hasnt' let me down. I haven't gotten a chance to try rock band yet, though.

Rock band seems like it's always been meant for a group.

I'm hoping that while guitar hero allows for a band next time around, it'll still be well configured to allow me to play it as more of a solo game. I deeply enjoy the group aspect (it's the ONLY reason taht I'm even considering getting a console), but I ultimately play primarily alone and want to ensure that's gonna still play good.
