Konami today announced that its critically acclaimed, championship caliber soccer game -- Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 -- has shipped to retail stores nationwide. The long-standing series, a favorite of soccer fans around the world, makes its next-generation debut on the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS in addition to new and improved versions on the PlayStation 2, PSP and PC.

Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 features enhanced animation and collision detection systems that combine to deliver the most fluid gameplay experience ever for the series. Players jostle for position as they prepare for a header, retain control of the ball when performing slide tackles, set up long runs with beautifully timed lead passes, turn defenders as they receive the ball, dribble backwards, and perform spectacular fakes.

Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 also features enhanced online play, improved graphics, new fully licensed international and league teams and new game modes. The game will feature several licenses new to the series, including the French League as well as Portugal’s Sporting Lisbon and Benfica. It will also include fully licensed uniforms for the Czech, French, Australian, English, Italian, Argentinean, Spanish and Swedish national teams, and hundreds of the world’s biggest soccer stars. Additionally, new to the PSP system and Xbox 360 versions, and returning on the PlayStation 2 system and PC, is a robust Master League mode, which gives players even more control over their favorite team by allowing them to manage and train the players on their own soccer franchise.

Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 delivers unmatched gameplay realism that takes full advantage of each individual platform. On the PlayStation 2 system, the game adds new modes of play including International Challenge and Random Match. International Challenge mode lets players compete through four continents of opposition to become a champion, while Random Match lets gamers take the field with a group of players selected at random from a predetermined league or geographic area. The PlayStation 2 system version also supports online gameplay for up to four players and support for up to eight players on a single system using the PlayStation 2 system MultiTap.

The highly anticipated next-generation debut of the Winning Eleven series on Xbox 360 is highlighted by enhanced graphics, animations and move sets, delivering the smoothest and most realistic gameplay ever for the series. Multiplayer options on Xbox 360 include online gameplay for up to two players and support for up to four players on a single system.

For gaming on the go, Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 for the PSP system returns with local wireless multiplayer for up to two players and a full-featured Master League mode. While the entirely new Nintendo DS version of the game takes advantage of the system’s touch-screen features by allowing players to change the team’s tactics and formations on the fly. Designed to appeal specifically to the Nintendo DS audience, the gameplay is intuitive yet retains the series’ trademark complexity.
