Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that Cold Fear has shipped for the Xbox system from Microsoft. Developed by Darkworks Studio, Cold Fear is a thrilling action-horror game that electrifies with action-packed gameplay and a horrifying, suspenseful storyline.

“Ubisoft is making a huge impact on the action-horror genre with the release of Cold Fear,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. “Cold Fear challenges even the toughest competitor to endure an immersive gameplay experience that features an aggressive A.I. system, interactive environments that enhance the already intense combat, blood-crazed enemies and heart-stopping terror with its kill-or-be-killed attitude.”

Players step into the role of Tom Hansen, a U.S. Coast Guard who is sent to board a drifting Russian whaling ship in the middle of a howling storm on the Bering Sea. He arrives only to discover that terrifying surprises await him on the bloodstained decks of the constantly rocking, shifting vessel. Set in a volatile, dynamic environment, players will find themselves overwhelmed by fear as they engage in intense combat with intelligent enemies.
