Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. announced Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus has shipped to retail outlets nationwide exclusively for the PSP. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus takes the series in an exciting new direction, focusing on a deep multiplayer experience and introducing new stages, playable characters, and gameplay modes.

"With Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus, Kojima Productions has pushed the limits of the PSP system, creating the definitive portable multiplayer experience," Said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus brings the fun and fast-paced action of a console multiplayer game to the PSP system, and at a price that gives fans of the series and newcomers alike an amazing value."

In addition to Ad-Hoc, infrastructure-based wireless play and Wi-Fi HotSpot support the game also includes a brand new single player mode - Infinity Mission. Infinity Mission lets players engage in missions of increasing difficulty, gathering both weapons and team members in the face of increasingly tougher enemies. Through Infinity Mission, players will be able to recruit brand new soldiers from the Metal Gear Solid universe, including Raiden and Old Snake from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and bring them online to battle other live opponents.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus also allows players to upload their saved data from the original Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops to create instant squads. Additionally, players can choose from a variety of new environment maps, such as an updated version of the REX Hangar area of the original Metal Gear Solid, for more multiplayer mayhem. Tutorials and improved in-game support are available to help players of all skill levels to jump right into the action or hone their skills.
