Electronic Arts today announced that production for the The Sims 2 PSP has been fast-tracked. Initially slated for a December 13, 2005 release, the PSP version of the best selling PC game of 2004 will now hit store shelves six days early, on December 7, 2005.

This is great news for fans of the Sims franchise, which is considered to be one of the most popular game series in history, having sold more than 58M units since the original PC version of The Sims debuted in 2001.

In this wireless version, players can delve deep into the mysteries of Strangetown and swap secrets with other PSP players to discover the unknown in this classic Sims 2 location. The full 3D world allows gamers to take their Sims through the adventures of Strangetown with five brand new neighborhoods and 20 unique locations custom-built for the PSP.
