Sony Computer Entertainment America announced today that SingStar Pop will launch April 3, 2007 exclusively for the PlayStation 2. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s London Studio, SingStar Pop is the follow-up to SingStar Rocks and is PlayStation 2’s newest interactive singing experience featuring real songs and music videos from original artists.

This time around PlayStation fans will find more of their favorite songs from current chart-topping stars and pop legends including James Blunt, U2, Natasha Bedingfield, Franz Ferdinand, The Clash and more.

SingStar Pop will be available both as a standalone disc and packaged with two SingStar USB microphones. Whether dreaming of their own solo performance or enjoying a good time with friends and family, players can headline the game in single-player mode or break loose with several multiplayer modes. An ideal game to keep the party going, a group of players can hop on the mic with multiplayer options including cooperative Duet Mode, one-on-one Battle Mode and the team-based Pass-the-Mic. And as an added feature for SingStar fans, players can easily expand their song library by accessing the song list from SingStar Rocks! while playing SingStar Pop, and vice versa, via the quick disc swap feature.
