Mythic Entertainment, developer and publisher of massively-multiplayer online role-playing games, today released Darkness Rising, the sixth expansion pack for the critically-acclaimed Dark Age of Camelot. The new expansion is available both as a stand alone product via Mythic’s new integrated digital distribution system and as part of the new Dark Age of Camelot: Epic Edition available at retail today.

“There is a lot of challenging new content available to players in ‘Darkness Rising.’ There is an epic quest to save the Realms, customizable player-controlled mounts, and new champion weapons. “Darkness Rising” requires the original “Dark Age of Camelot,” and “Catacombs” expansion to play. Former players returning to the game can re-activate their account, regain their original characters and take advantage of the online availability of the expansion.

A 14-day free trial of “Dark Age of Camelot,” which includes the original game as well as the “Shrouded Isles,” “Foundations,” and “New Frontiers” expansions, is available for download from www.darkageofcamelot.com/downloads.
