Fishtank Interactive, a division of Ravensburger Interactive, announced today that "AquaNox," a thrilling submarine action title for the PC, is now available in retail stores. One of the first titles optimized for NVIDIA's GeForce3, "AquaNox" features beautiful, photorealistic underwater environments with intricately detailed organic textures and surfaces. Submerged in a post-apocalyptic Earth, the player is Emerald "Dead Eye" Flint, a swashbuckling mercenary facing threats emerging from the deep.

"'AquaNox' is without a doubt the title to snatch up this fall," said Jerry Wolosenko, head of Fishtank Interactive activities in North America. "Not only is it visually ambitious, the scope and pacing of the single and multiplayer player missions supported by the epic storyline will immerse gamers in a stunning 3D world unlike anything they've ever experienced."

Set in a bleak future on a shattered Earth destroyed by nuclear warfare, "AquaNox" introduces a futuristic 3D world sunk deep in a massive ocean. Human survivors have created a new empire, and they send gigantic submarines to plow along the sea floor. Gamers play the role of the roguish Emerald "Dead Eye" Flint, a mercenary with many talents and connections in the underwater world. Flint faces a new threat that surfaces from the sunken caverns - horrifying creatures and ancient gods once sealed in oceanic caves. In this dangerous yet beautiful new world, the gamer discovers glittering underwater cities, dazzling aquatic flora and fauna, and massive natural formations in jaw-dropping detail.

The sprawling 8000 square kilometer world of "AquaNox" is filled with enormous monsters, rebel forces, and dangerous pirates. Players pilot a small underwater ship that deftly maneuvers between the tentacles of giant squid and craggy reefs. The game includes numerous upgrades for the underwater vehicle to enhance firepower, shields, and speed. Powerful plasma guns and enhanced weapons aside, "AquaNox" relies on strategy and carefully measured tactics. With sixteen-player multiplayer support over LAN, "AquaNox" offers intricate multifaceted gameplay that keeps the player coming back for more.
