"This demo is a first 'hands-on' taste of this highly-anticipated underwater action adventure," said Jerry Wolosenko, head of Fishtank Interactive activities in North America. "Although the demo represents only one of the 34 missions in the full 'AquaNox' game, players can experience the visual excitement and non-stop action that takes place in the submerged world of the ocean floor."
Set in a bleak future on a shattered Earth destroyed by nuclear warfare, "AquaNox" introduces a futuristic 3D world sunk deep in the ocean depths. Human survivors have created a new empire, and send gigantic submarines to plow along the seafloor. Gamers play the role of the rogue Emerald "Dead Eye" Flint, a mercenary with many talents and connections in the underwater world. Flint and his band of warriors face human enemies as well as new threats that surface from the sunken caverns - horrifying creatures and ancient gods once sealed in oceanic caves. In this dangerous yet beautiful new world, the gamer discovers glittering underwater cities, dazzling aquatic flora and fauna, and massive natural formations in jaw-dropping detail.
The sprawling 8000 square kilometer world of "AquaNox" is filled with enormous monsters, rebel forces, and dangerous pirates. Players pilot a small underwater ship that deftly maneuvers between the elaborate structures of underwater cities, the threatening craggy reefs of submerged mountains and the enveloping tentacles of giant squid. The mission-based game includes numerous upgrades and choices of underwater vehicles to enhance firepower, shields, and speed as the player advances through the game. Powerful plasma guns and enhanced weapons aside, "AquaNox" relies on strategy and carefully measured tactics and an intimate knowledge of the capabilities of friends and foes. With sixteen-player multiplayer support over LAN, "AquaNox" offers intricate multifaceted gameplay that keeps the player coming back for more.
"AquaNox" is scheduled to ship to all major software retailers in the US and Canada on November 15.
