THQ today announced that it has entered into a worldwide publishing agreement with Gas Powered Games, founded by game design visionary, Chris Taylor. The two companies will work together on the Windows PC Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game Supreme Commander. With Supreme Commander, Taylor, an early pioneer in the RTS category, will mark his return to a genre that he helped popularize.

"Selecting a partner for Supreme Commander meant finding a publisher with our same commitment to developing innovative, high quality PC games," said Chris Taylor, founder and creative director, Gas Powered Games. "THQ is a clear global leader and we look forward to building the Supreme Commander franchise with them in the years to come."

"We strive to partner with the brightest and most creative development studios in the interactive industry," said Dan Kelly, senior vice president of business development, THQ. "The track record of Gas Powered Games places them among an elite class of developers and we are confident that together we will deliver a product that will make gamers across the world stand up and take notice."

"Our goal with this franchise is to take the RTS experience into the future," Taylor added. "Supreme Commander will deliver an exciting, accessible gaming experience on a huge scope and scale that will allow players to wield unprecedented control over the entire theater of war."

More details on Supreme Commander will be released this summer.
