Atari, Inc. today announced that the website for its highly anticipated game, Act of War: Direct Action, is now live. The website - www.atari.com/actofwar - will be continually updated, and features easy to navigate, comprehensive information on all aspects of the game, providing a perfect home for the fan community.

Act of War: Direct Action, a near-future, geopolitical techno-thriller for PC developed by Eugen Systems, is slated for release in Spring 2005. The game’s authenticity and real-life tension is provided by a storyline and game universe created in cooperation with Dale Brown, a New York Times best-selling author and expert on US military, global conflict and future military technology.

“We believe Act of War: Direct Action is a revolution in interactive entertainment, blending the most compelling elements of feature filmmaking, video games and brilliant storytelling in the expert voice of Dale Brown”, said Peter Matiss, Director of Brand Marketing for Atari’s Beverly studio. “Act of War: Direct Action™ will captivate audiences, introducing them to a world of international intrigue and the fight against global terrorism.”

Visitors to the website will be able to join forums to discuss the game with the developers and Atari. The site will also be updated regularly from now through launch and visitors will have access to downloadable screenshots, trailers and a playable demo, as well as the opportunity to receive newsletters, a fan site kit and read the developer diary.

Act of War: Direct Action is due for release on PC in Spring 2005.
