Tri Synergy, a PC and video game co-publishing company, announced that its role-playing, first person shooter Purge has shipped to North American retail outlets. The online-only PC game blends science fiction with fantasy as players square off in a war-like environment to defend their respective belief systems.

“Purge’s unique combination of both role-playing and first-person shooting elements lends a unique perspective to online gameplay,” said Shane Nestler, executive vice president of Tri Synergy. “We are confident the game’s range of offerings, including science fiction and fantasy backdrops, will be popular with a wide range of players.”

Developed by Freeform Interactive LLC, Purge players become members of the Order and the Chosen, with each side seeking elimination of the enemy and individual party survival. Players receive rewards as they win battles and complete objectives throughout gameplay. In addition, Purge offers several map options, innovative weaponry and extensive player customization to enhance the online war experience.
