They say lightning never strikes twice in the same place, but when the gods are involved -- great things can happen! After a successful online multiplayer alpha test in which 10,000 gamers received the opportunity to try out Age of Mythology before anyone else, gamers will now be given a second chance. Microsoft Game Studios and Ensemble Studios today announced that at an undisclosed time on Friday, September 27, gamers will be able to sign up for the chance to win a sneak preview copy of the most anticipated real-time strategy game this fall at http://www.microsoft.com/games/ageofmythology/sneakpreview.asp.

RTS fans who hope to be among the first to venture into the playgrounds of the gods in Age of Mythology will want to check the sites frequently, as the sign-up will be posted at an unspecified time. The official Age of Mythology site will also host a complete list of all participating sites. The first ten submissions from each site, along with 50 additional winners randomly selected from all entries, will be able to play Age of Mythology before the game hits store shelves.

Age of Mythology's 3D engine delivers impressive graphics in a fully 3D environment, including beautiful waves and water, lifelike rolling terrain, realistic sunlight, and lush forests. In-game cinematics create a seamless, story-based and character-driven campaign which features 35 scenarios. In addition, the game features incredible special effects with astonishing levels of detail, including waterspouts, infernos, snowstorms, tornadoes and earthquakes. Age of Mythology will be available this fall for an estimated retail price of $49.99 USD.
