Microsoft Offers Players a Chance to Participate in the Asheron's Call 2 Beta

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that 1000 lucky gamers will receive CDs and be invited to participate in the highly coveted Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings beta test. Asheron's Call 2 has not yet entered the public open beta phase, but gamers may sign up now for an an early look at the first next-generation massively multiplayer roleplaying game.

From August 19 to September 3, gamers can visit the Asheron's Call 2 Insider site, visit the CD sign-up page and enter using their Microsoft Passport information. On September 6, 1000 gamers will be selected and receive directions on how to get their Asheron's Call 2 beta CDs. Those who are not fortunate enough to win will receive information on their next chance to participate in the AC2 open beta.

Asheron's Call 2, the sequel to the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Asheron's Call, will advance the MMORPG genre with the advanced Turbine Engine G2 graphics engine, providing some of the most sophisticated graphics available on a PC. Scheduled for U.S. release this winter, Asheron's Call 2 features a dynamic, evolving fantasy world that reacts to players' behavior and actions. Developed by Turbine Entertainment Software Corp., the game includes features such as a revamped combat system and new in-depth crafting system that gives players a chance to pursue noncombative skills.
