Fans of Microsoft's MechWarrior 4 will soon have even more giant, walking toys of mass destruction to play with: the MechWarrior 4: Inner Sphere 'Mech Pak has gone gold and will hit store shelves early next month.

The Inner Sphere Mech Pak adds new BattleMechs and new technology compatible with MechWarrior 4: Vengeance and with the MechWarrior 4: Black Knight expansion. Those additions include four new Mechs:

Zeus: A classic Inner Sphere design, the Zeus is an extremely reliable long-range Assault Mech.

Highlander: A massive jump-capable Assault Mech and signature Mech of the Northwind Highlanders mercenary unit.

Hunchback: Easily identified by its oversized auto-cannon, the Hunchback is a tough brawler armed for short-range combat.

Dragon: A speedy all-around frontline striker and a favored Mech of House Kurita commanders.

The Pak's Inner Sphere technology also yields a new weapon and sensor package:
Heavy Gauss Rifle: The HGR packs an even more devastating punch than the standard Gauss Rifle.
IFF Jammer: This cutting-edge tech lets the new Inner Sphere 'Mechs spread confusion in the enemy's ranks.

Rounding out the Inner Sphere 'Mech Pak is a new multi-player map, the Coliseum -- a gigantic arena where Mechs can duke it out for the entertainment of millions.

The MechWarrior 4: Inner Sphere Mech Pak will be available in early June. It will be followed in July by the MechWarrior 4: Clan Mech Pak, which adds another four new 'Mechs, new technology, and a new map from the Clans' side of the MechWarrior universe.

The best-selling, award-winning MechWarrior 4: Vengeance is based on the popular game of mechanized combat from FASA Studios. Cyberlore, the team behind the successful MechWarrior 4: Black Knight expansion, is developing the Paks in conjunction with the FASA MechWarrior 4 team.
