THQ Inc. announced the launch of American Girl: Mia Goes For Great into retail outlets throughout North America. Based on American Girl’s new character, this entertaining and challenging Windows PC game will delight mothers and daughters alike.

American Girl: Mia Goes For Great centers around Mia St. Clair, a courageous and perseverant ten-year-old growing up in upstate New York. As the youngest and only daughter in the St. Clair family, Mia has grown up playing ice hockey with her three older brothers on the pond behind their house. While she has the skills needed to be a star hockey player, Mia resolves to pursue her dream of becoming a world-class figure skater. Throughout the process, Mia learns valuable lessons about winning—and losing—with grace, being a good sport, and believing in herself.

In American Girl: Mia Goes For Great, players will help Mia prepare her solo appearance at the Lucerne’s Winter Show by choosing a costume, designing and practicing a skating program and selecting music for her performance. The Program Builder allows players to choose fancy twists and jumps to practice, and players can find helpful hints at the library for all the tips and requirements needed to help Mia skate her way to the challenging Regionals. American Girl: Mia Goes For Great also features two strategy-based mini-games, “Rink Sweep” and “Snowflakes,” that challenge the skills of players.

In addition to American Girl: Mia Goes For Great, THQ is scheduled to release two new titles for Windows PC and Nintendo DS based on the first-ever American Girl feature film, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Story, scheduled to debut this July.
