Aspyr passed along a quick note this morning that they've released a playable demo for their upcoming title, 1701 A.D. (formerly known as ANNO 1701).

"The 1701 A.D. demo is now available as a free download and can be found on http://aspyr.com/product/info/57."

The demo offers both single and multiplayer elements, two difficulty levels, and 90 minutes of game time.
