The developers at Gearbox passed along a brief note today letting us know that one of their writers has published a blog entry taking players behind the scenes and exploring the concepts and challenges of storytelling within games.

"Our writer, Mike Neumann (who has written the scripts for the Brothers in Arms games), has posted a blog that addresses a fairly hot industry topic - storytelling in games. In his blog, he discusses how the shared experience can help create emotional impact in games. The topic of whether or not storytelling has a place in games and the challenge of creating engaging gameplay AND a story with emotional impact on the player is something the Brothers in Arms games have worked to do, and it's a topic that is of interest to the industry as we grow and face the challenges of our expanding medium."
