This morning at Microsoft's E3 press conference, Microsoft Game Studios confirmed it will publish Remedy's Alan Wake, the psychological action thriller first announced last year. The title will be launched exclusively for Windows Vista and the Xbox 360.

"We are truly excited about the opportunity to work with the gifted and experienced Remedy team," said Frank Pape, Senior Director of Business Development at Microsoft. "Our teams are dedicated to pushing the envelope of the gaming experience for Windows and the Xbox 360 with 'Alan Wake.' Millions of gamers have come to expect highly innovative and compelling content from Remedy and Microsoft Game Studios is proud to partner with them on this phenomenal title."

"Partnering with Microsoft Game Studios creates a complementary blend of talents and a shared passion to create something incredible," said Petri Järvilehto, Creative Director at Remedy. "We put a lot of effort into finding the best publisher match for our game and the Remedy team. As a result, we are thrilled to work with MGS to make 'Alan Wake' the game it deserves to be and to continue our track record of success."

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Washington, Alan Wake places gamers in the role of the best-selling suspense author, Alan Wake. He escapes to this small town to recover from the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée. In Bright Falls Wake comes face to face with his darkest nightmares.
