Strategy First, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of PC CD-ROM games, announced today that its highly anticipated sequel Disciples II: Dark Prophecy has gone gold.

"I couldn't be happier with the finished product, " says Pro Sotos, Producer for the Disciples series. "Everyone on this team has worked long and hard to make sure that everything in Disciples II is perfect. This game is so big that we have to ship it with two CDs!"

Scheduled for release on January 24th, Disciples II returns players to the Sacred Lands where four races - the Empire, the Mountain Clans, the Legions of the Damned and the Undead Hordes- continue their battle for supremacy.

Continuing the story of the original award winning Disciples: Sacred Lands, the sequel adds an element of surprise, as the Chosen One comes to life, bringing salvation to some and destruction to others. Once players choose to play one of four races, they are required to pick a leader and build an army of various units, each with their own skills and assets. Choosing the right combination of units is all part of a player's strategy.

The differences between Disciples I and II are seen in the overall gameplay. Disciples II adds a new event and trigger system, neutral unit AI, hot seat play, a paper doll system and an export/import feature that allows units to gain experience through combat and be imported or exported from one campaign to the next. The interface has been completely redone and the artwork has undergone a dramatic face-lift.
