Company of Heroes Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 9.6 out of 10

Men know that wars are not won by one solider alone. It is the combined acts of many, working together, that bring the battle to an end. Similarly, victory isn't achieved by sending soldiers blindly to their deaths; it's accomplished by making the right choices, recognizing tactical advantages, and deploying your resources strategically. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.5 out of 10

There's a lot to say about Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It tries to do a lot of things at once using a powerful engine, but unfortunately can not seem to accomplish all of its tasks. What's left, however, is a fairly enjoyable game that just needs to be tweaked to make it much more. Read More.

The Ship Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.7 out of 10

The Ship began as a mod for Half-Life, but as time went on, it soon became a stand-alone game using the Source engine. In it, you and a group of people have all been placed on a ship by an eccentric rich man known only by the name Mr. X. You're given a target, and it's your job to take them down by any means necessary. Read More.

Ship Simulator Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 4.0 out of 10

I wasn't really sure what I expected Ship Simulator to be when I booted it up. I mean, the title is right there. It goes without saying that the game allows you to pilot a variety of boats in a variety of situations. There's a heavy emphasis on the realism of the situation and how the boats move and are controlled, and a really low emphasis on anything resembling action or, well, fun. Read More.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Review (PS2)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.2 out of 10

Devil Summoner is the latest title in the long-running Shin Megami Tensei series, a series that shares more in common with style, theme and design than any other components. The latest installment pits you, Kuzunoha Raidou (or at least, the 14th person to have gained the title), against a mysterious foe with strong connections to the world of the demons, the Dark Realm. Ankh Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.6 out of 10

It isn't easy being Assil. First, he can't find a bottle opener. Then he contracts a terrible death curse (as if there are any other), and then he's grounded for a week! How will he ever solve his predicament? Why, with a healthy dose of running around and using/combining seemingly random things, that's how. Read More.

Miami Vice: The Game Review (PSP)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.1 out of 10

Miami is apparently a very gritty place. Drug cartels around every corner, police who shoot first, shoot later, and then, if time permits, ask questions. Such is Miami Vice, one of the latest offerings of movie-to-game transitions. Read More.

Rule of Rose Review (PS2)

By Nicholas Bale () - 6.9 out of 10

There are games out there that value substance over style, simple-looking games that hide a lot of depth within their gameplay. There are also those games that value style over gameplay. Everything meshes well, stylistically speaking, whether it's music or graphics, and the game is fun to watch, though it may lack any real substance beneath. Read More.

DarkStar One Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 8.0 out of 10

Sometimes a game doesn't need to be innovative to be enjoyable. Sometimes you don't need new ideas and concepts and designs, something Katamari-esque to have fun with. Sometimes a game can take an old concept, add a little dash of idea here and there, and still be a satisfying experience to play. Read More.

Night Watch Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 4.8 out of 10

Welcome to the world of the Others, a world within our own, beyond our site, where forces of Light and the forces of Dark fight a cold war to determine the fate of the world. Where the forces of Light have formed the Night Watch to keep the Dark in check, and where the forces of Dark have formed the Day Watch to keep the Light in check. Read More.

X3: Reunion Review (PC)

By Nicholas Bale () - 8.3 out of 10

Not a whole lot of games come along that make you look at them and say "Woah. That's pretty impressive." Some do it with the graphics. Some do it with the scope of gameplay. Some do it with sectors that are so ridiculously huge that, even on your fastest speed with 1000% time compression, you still take a few minutes to cross the entire area, from north to south, and then make a few dozen of these areas for you to fly around in. MLB 2006 Review (PS2)

By Nicholas Bale () - 8.2 out of 10

I'll cut to the chase: this game is pretty good, if you like the sport. There's franchise mode and season mode, which are done fairly well with some new additions, a reworked career mode, and a couple time wasters like home-run derby and exhibition modes to satisfy any quick baseball urges you might get. Over the Hedge Review (PS2)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.2 out of 10

Perhaps it is destiny for every animated movie to have a video game counterpart, and Over the Hedge is no different. In this video game based on the movie, based on the comic strip, the woodland creatures go through wacky hijinx to steal food, loot, and cause a bit of mayhem in suburban life. Read More.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories Review (PSP)

By Nicholas Bale () - 7.4 out of 10

Grand Theft Auto fans can finally take their hooker-clubbing, gun-toting, crime-spree action on the run, with Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories on the PSP. It essentially takes the series' well-known formula of a sandbox-style form of gameplay, and brings it to the handheld. Read More.
