Sierra Entertainment announced that The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor video game, based on Universal Pictures’ upcoming epic adventure directed by Rob Cohen, has shipped to retailers across North America. Developed by Eurocom Studios for Wii and PlayStation 2, and by A2M for Nintendo DS, the video game mirrors the fast-paced action and adventure found in the latest chapter in the Mummy series.

In The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, a third-person action-adventure video game, players will take on the heroic roles of Rick O'Connell and his son, Alex (played by Brendan Fraser and Luke Ford, respectively, in the film). Gamers will follow the explorers on their harrowing journey—across exotic locations from the catacombs of ancient China to spectacular Himalayan peaks—to defeat the vicious Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his reawakened terracotta servants.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor allows players to switch seamlessly between gunplay and hand-to-hand melee attacks. It also features a fast and fluid combat system and an extensive arsenal of weaponry that can be used to vanquish the many bone-chilling enemies players will face during their journey. Fans of the film will fight their way through the Mummy universe by utilizing combat, puzzle-solving and hieroglyphic decoding gameplay elements throughout.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is available on the Wii, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS. For more information, visit the game's official Web site at www.mummyvideogame.com.
