If you were debating whether to pick up the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection when it arrives in North America later this summer, here's something that should make your decision a little easier: Insomniac announced yesterday that anyone who buys the Collection will also receive early access to a demo of the new Sly Cooper game, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.

North American customers will also be given a special avatar marking Ratchet & Clank's 10th anniversary. Both the avatar and the demo will apparently be available regardless of whether you buy the game from a retailer or via the PlayStation Network.

They may not be the only enticements, either: in a comment on the story, SCEA Associate Product Marketing Manager Cristian Cardona hinted that there would be news regarding Ratchet: Deadlocked "in the near future".

As it is, the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection will feature the original Ratchet & Clank, along with Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. All three games have been remastered in 1080p HD remasters, and Trophy and 3D support (in 720p). Further, Up Your Arsenal will feature online play.

The Collection is out August 28th, and should cost $29.99.
