Today during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo announced the latest title for Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics.

The next Winter Olympics will be set in the town of  Sochi, Russia so that is where the the pair will be headed with all their friends.

There will be the standard Olympic events already featured in previous titles, but now some events will utilize the Wii U game pad. For instance, when competing in the Curling event, players will have to draw a line to their target for accuracy. Also in the Biathlon, players will use the remote while skiing, but will have to switch to the game pad when  shooting at targets.

The game will also have a feature called "Green Mode" that will have events take place in Mario and Sonic's world and be able to do feats that they could not do in the real world. There will also be events that will combine sports such as skiing and bobsledding.

A release date for the title has not been announced.
