During today's Nintendo Direct press video, Global President of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, announced a new title in the Mario Minis series.

Entitled Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, the game will have players placing tiles on the bottom screen of the 3DS to make paths for the Mario minis to walk across on the top screen to get them to reach the goal.

In some stages, players will have a limited number of tiles to place and will have to maneuver two Mario minis around hazards of the level. Players will be able to play 180 stages over four different modes.

Players will also be able to build their own stages as well as download stages from the internet to play on.

Aside from the main game, there will also be mini games that both utilize the touch screen the the 3D screen for players to take part in. One such example is a slingshot stage that will have players using the touch screen to pull back a Mario mini in a sling shot and flinging him at colorful bricks to destroy.

The game will be available for download on the Nintendo eShop on May 9.
