UPDATE: On PlayStation's product page, the game has been given a Spring 2013 release window.  Also over at the PlayStation blog, Todd Papy, Game Director of God of War: Ascension has stated that there will be a live stream event on April 30th at 8am Pacific Time that will give us a glimpse for what to expect for the upcoming title.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The tease last week was indeed about a new God of War, but not God of War IV that many thought.

Sony today announced God of War: Ascension for the PlayStation 3.  Also released was a teaser trailer to give a little insight to what we could expect.

Once again narrated by the Titan Gaia,  she explains of a time before Kratos was  the God of War and even before he was called the Ghost of Sparta hinting that we would get more insight on Kratos' origins.

No further information is available at this time, but stay tuned as more is revealed.
