After the tragedy that went down with 38 Studios and Big Huge Games, people of the gaming industry rushed to their aid in an unprecedented nature such as making and contributing to a Google Document that listed all available game developing job openings.  But now Epic Games has indeed gone one step further.

Dr. Michaels Capps, President of Epic Games, has announced they are opening a brand new studio in Baltimore in response to the mass layoffs.  Capps said that leadership from Big Huge Games got in contact with them and wanted to create a new studio utilizing Epic Games IP.

" In one of life's coincidences, Epic's directors had spent the morning discussing how we'd love to build even more successful projects with our growing team, but that we'd need a dramatic infusion of top talent to do so." said Capps.  "Which, we all knew, was impossible. So now we're planning to start an impossible studio in Baltimore."

Capps has stated that it will take some time to work out the details such as what the name of the studio is and how many of the Big Huge Games team they can hire, but that they are committed to the venture.

"The way we see it, there's been a big storm in Baltimore, and we're taking in a few of the refugees - as are the awesome folks at Zynga East, Zenimax Online, and other southeastern studios." said Capps. "Epic's in a situation where we can do this, and it very clearly fits with our company values, so we're going to give it a whirl."
