What might be considered as not much of a surprise, Valve announced that DOTA 2, their current MOBA game in development will in fact be free-to-play.
The game will be supported through an in-game store which will allow users to purchase comestic items for their characters.

With the said, you won't need to worry about other players being able to buy better items or unlock characters, as Valve has stated that you will not be able to pay your way to winning. All character upon public release will be available regardless if you purchase anything in store. Furthermore, you will be able to earn items by simply playing the game and winning, meaning that spending money on this game will be completely optional.

Once again Valve shows how much it strives to make its customers happy!

DOTA 2 is planned to be released by the end of this year.
