It's been nearly a decade and a half, but Duke Nukem Forever finally has a date. And now, a collector's edition to boot.
Dubbed "Balls of Steel", collector's edition will be priced at $99.99 USD, and exclusive to Amazon and GameStop. The edition will contain a copy of the game, and unique cover art, as well as:
- Numbered, limited-edition certificate of authenticity
- 100-page hardcover book: The History, Legacy & Legend: Duke Nukem Forever Art from the Vault
- Duke Nukem Forever postcard series
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem sticker
- Duke Nukem Forever collectable comic book
- Duke Nukem Forever foldable paper craft
- Duke Nukem Forever poker chips
- Duke Nukem Forever mini-card deck
- Duke Nukem Forever radioactive emblem dice
In a surprise announcement at PAX Prime 2010, Duke Nukem Forever, long under the development of 3D Realms, was picked up by Gearbox Software after the shuttering of it's original studio after a ridiculous (and often mocked) twelve year development cycle.
The game is now set for release on May 3, 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
