The World Ends With You Coming to iOS

Square Enix announced yesterday that they're bringing Nintendo DS classic The World Ends With You to iOS devices...today.

The news -- and release -- comes less than a week after they first launched a countdown site teasing something to do with TWEWY. Thanks to sleuthing by Andriasang/a screw-up by Square Enix themselves late last week, it was known that the announcement would have something to do with iDevices, but it was only yesterday that the company fully released details about the port. Nintendo Power Ceasing Publication

Nintendo Power, the popular magazine on all things Nintendo, is closing its doors.

"Nintendo Power's last issue will be the December 2012 issue, which will be mailed to subscribers in late November and sold on newsstands starting December 4." said an announcement on the company's website. Read More.

Layoffs Hit THQ, PopCap, FunCom

Bad things are said to come in threes, and that apparently goes for the game industry too, with news that layoffs have hit PopCap, THQ and Funcom.

For PopCap, the announced Plants vs. Zombies 2. 50 people have been let go from PopCap Seattle, PopCap Shanghai has been "shrunk", and the company is currently evaluating whether it wants to keep its offices in Dublin open. Read More.

All Races Available in Next World of Warcraft Patch

The Pandaren race will be available in the next patch, and you don't even have to get Mists of Pandaria to get them.

Blizzard announced on their blog that with the upcoming Patch 5.0.4, the new Pandaren race will be available to all players without the need of the upcoming expansion pack.  Read More.

EA announces Plants vs. Zombies 2

PopCap's hugely popular strategy game will be receiving a sequel in the form of Plants vs. Zombies 2, EA announced earlier today. With a provisional launch window of late Spring 2013 on the cards, it will "include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise's tens of millions of fans". In yet another Gamescom announcement, Sony have revealed PSN exclusive Rain  - a new IP from their Japan Studio.

Following the story of a boy who "awakes to see a girl's silhouette in the rain", he soon becomes invisible himself in a grimy, seemingly abandoned urban landscape. Read More.

Sony unveils Killzone Mercenary

Shining a spotlight on the Killzone Vita game teased long before the system's release, Sony announced Killzone Mercenary at Gamescom last week.

A first person shooter exclusive to the PlayStation handheld, a live action trailer displayed an elite team who didn't appear to fight for either the iconic Helgasht or the opposing ISA forces (the two conflicting factions of the Killzone series), having tackled both groups throughout. Read More.
