The Sims games have been some of the most popular and heavily played, customized and modded games out there, drawing millions of fans from all over and creating a huge community of players. I remember playing The Sims when it first came out and loosing track of time, having to be told by friends that it was almost 2 AM in the morning. EA followed with The Sims 2, adding in more options, more life stages and advancing the game mechanics in amazing ways. So when The Sims 3 was announced, fans everywhere waited in breathless anticipation for the next incarnation of the game.

Mass Effect 3 demo to give players limited Gold Access

BioWare will give the Midas Touch to Xbox 360 players. BioWare announced that when players download the Mass Effect 3 Demo, it will give gold access for a limited time. So not only will players be able to take on the single-player story missions, they will be able to enjoy the multiplayer access as well.

More exclusive characters coming to Street Fighter x Tekken

We already knew that Cole from the Infamous series was going to be a playable character in the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Street Fighter x Tekken, but he won't be alone. Yesterday, it was announced that Pac-Man, Kuro and Turo and Mega Man will be coming to the console as well. If you watched the trailer and didn't recognize Mega Man, he is the fat guy in blue and yellow with the laser gun. This Mega Man is inspired by the box art from the very first Mega Man game.

Ted Price: Insomniac is done with Resistance

The Resistance series has come to an end, at least in the hands of Insomniac Games. Ted Price, President on CEO of Insomniac, posted a video on their YouTube channel confirming that the company is indeed done with the franchise and is ready to move on.

Nintendo Posts Annual Loss

Nintendo was forced to post an annual loss of $623 million for the end of 2011, and also lowerd it's projections for the next fiscal year stating that they now believe they will have a $837 million dollar loss instead of $258.

BlizzConn 2012 Cancelled!

Blizzard has decided that for the first time since they started holding the annual conference, BlizzCon will be a no-go for the year. It's been postponed, they say, until 2013. Now, allowing for the brief moment of panic I'm sure that statement inspired, let me clarify by saying that Blizzard claims it's just go too much going on right now, what with Diablo 3, Word of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm all coming out.

Mass Effect 3 demo date announced

BioWare has announced the release date of the Mass Effect 3 demo. The demo will be available on February 14 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. BioWare stated on their forum that the demo for the game will come with two single player sections. The first section will deal with the opening level of the game where the Reapers attack the Earth. The next will be further in the story where Shepard must seek out an alien race to help him with the war against the Reapers. BioWare states this will be approximately 1 to 2 hours of content.

MLB Bobblehead Battle Review

When I booted up MLB Bobblehead Battle for the first time, I was optimistic. I was hoping the game would be similar to what we've seen in Wii sports, albeit with more depth, better graphics and an MLB license. Unfortunately I was clearly mistaken. Had I picked up MLB Bobblehead Pros, Konami's last baseball release, I would have been in business. Bobblehead Battle on the other hand is a retooled version of Pros that takes away any of the real fun and replaces it with a poor take on batting practice.

Serious Sam is the antithesis of its own name: a series that laughs in the face of games that take themselves seriously, with grim stories and brooding characters. Serious Sam is a series about shooting lots, and lots, and lots of enemies as they barrel towards you screaming, firing rockets, exploding, and basically trying to kill you in any way possible while Sam cracks jokes and one-liners the entire way.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Review

In recent years, it sure feels like no genre has been more maligned and ignored than that of the combat flight simulator. To the best of my recollection in the last decade, there have been a few WWII flight sims on the major consoles, a single instalment of Microsoft's Flight Simulator, and the Ace Combat series. Ace Combat has always been about fast planes blowing up other fast planes. With the release of Assault Horizon last year, Namco saw fit to tone down the Anime inspired goofiness with an entirely different goofiness in the gritty war movie mold. Now, it's companion title is available on the 3DS, and while it gives a noble effort to replicate the solid console experience of Assault Horizon, it ultimately ends up being another forgettable title for Nintendo's nifty handheld.
